The IBM i is always growing and transforming, and Fresche Solutions’ IBM i modernisation and management tools are expanding with it.
Presto 8.6
Convert spool files to HTML
With this latest update, you can now use Presto to display spool files in HTML format. When a user selects an entry in the spool file viewer, they now have the option to either “View in PDF” or “View in HTML”.
New global transformations
Onetransform is a new global transformation event that extends global transformation functionality by adding the ability to execute custom JavaScript logic, following a global transformation. You might want to use this to apply exceptions to global transformation – like an F1 help key not being transformed.
New JavaScript events
Presto 8.6 brings two new JavaScript events:
- SentRequest – triggered when a page request is in progress (after a SendRequest event) to notify the user that the request has been sent to the server – this event cannot be cancelled
- PlayMacro – triggered before a macro is played, useful for triggering actions after a request has been sent to the server (eg. executing custom code on page navigations)
Enable the browser’s right-click menu
Enabling the browser’s right-click menu allows Presto users to access Chrome and Internet Explorer features, like Translate and Inspect.
Nexus 6.5
Changes to user maintenance UI
With an intuitive new user interface, Nexus 6.5 makes it easier than ever to create and manage user profiles. The new interface includes features like wizards that enable you to quickly add, edit and delete users, and assign them to groups.
Changes to theme editor UI
Nexus 6.5 comes with several enhancements to the theme editor, including the ability for users to:
- Create new custom themes directly in the theme editor UI (instead of manually copying the IFS folder)
- Add and remove themes using a new API
- Set a theme as the default site theme from the Theme Editor UI, or apply a theme from the Theme Editor UI
Support for Kerberos
Nexus now supports the Kerberos authentication protocol, which means that it can be used in a Kerberos-enabled single sign-on environment.
New API
- New APIs to add a new theme and remove an existing one
- New API for managing Nexus site settings
- New API returns only basic information but performs better than the Documents Tree API
Newlook 11.3
The latest version of the Newlook suite builds on the recently re-designed Newlook 11 with several enhancements, including support for:
- Most standard FTP actions
- Variables in the connection device name
- Application ‘areas’ within Insights to clean up and group Insights graphs
- Right-to-Left text (Arabic)
- Resizable toolbar icons for high DPI displays
- Hiding the connection progress dialogue to clean up the end-user UX
- Inserting the Newlook control within WinForms applications, for companies using Newlook within .net apps
